Description

This collection includes six one-act plays: BONE THE SPEED, CARWASH, CONRAD ON THE VINE, ETHIOPIA, THE MAN WHO ATE EINSTEIN’S BRAIN, and PRECISION MACHINES. Louis Phillips proves with these short plays that he is among our most inventive and imaginative playwrights. BONE THE SPEED: A spoof about the ultimate snake-pit, Hollywood, with a nod to David Mamet’s SPEED-THE-PLOW. CARWASH: A comic surrealistic nightmare ensues when a man’s car disappears at the carwash. CONRAD ON THE VINE: Imagine Joseph Conrad alive today and being interviewed on a television talk-show. ETHIOPIA: A totalitarian future where food is so scarce that people pay to watch others eat. THE MAN WHO ATE EINSTEIN’S BRAIN: The title says it all. PRECISION MACHINES: Inanimate objects take on a life of their own.
